They ARE meant for use by
themselves, outside and in public... uh well now they are...
I do in fact recognize
that these are not shoes but they are getting honorary mention because pair #7
did such damage on wear #3 (see Day 7- The Cover Shoes) that when my friend and
I found ourselves at “Minus 5 Degrees” the ICE BAR where by
the grace of god they loaned us boots I seriously thought the gods had heard the little screams of pain from my feet. Um in hindsight they loan
people boots with the intention of protecting guests to the establishment from frost
bite...so I suppose it’s not all about me.
These shoe covers were
being given out for use as socks with the loaner/rental boots. At the end of our visit to the bar where the temperature is 5 degrees BELOW zero we went out to the lockers in which all of
our belongings had been placed upon entry, it dawned on me that I
could not and would not put my beauteous shoes back on my feet. My
"socks" were off and in the trash before I announced I was planning
to walk out of the bar, through the casino and possibly out to the street in
bare feet and my friend suggested that I wear the "socks" (at least
it was something) so I took hers, after all like most normal people she was
actually done with hers at that point. We giggled our way through the
casino and out to the cab stand. I got all the way back to my hotel before I
got my first funny look. I smiled at the doorman, who tried to pretend he
wasn't looking, and reminded him that he was in Vegas and he had seen worse!
On a comfort scale
of 1 to 10... 11 inflated score due to the relief factor.
